THE Concert

The concert at Baylor last Tuesday went wonderfully(!!!) well! All of the prayers and practicing paid off - the choir sang beautifully, Stephen was mostly calm, and I played very well (if I do say so myself!)

One of the most nerve-wracking things about that concert was that of the 12-13 pieces we did, two of the composers were there in the audience: Joseph Martin and Robert Sterling. Their pieces are some of my favorites, thus I had practiced them often and I hope they were pleased. I did not get to talk to either one, but Stephen said that J. Martin was very complimentary of the concert!

I am so thankful for this experience - I thank God for the confidence that I feel as a result! If I can play that many pieces with THAT MANY 16th notes, then I'm doing pretty good in the accompanist department. (Thanks for letting me get that out!) :-)

I was so happy that so many friends were there to hear the choir! I so enjoy being a part of the group and getting to know all of the kids, but now others know why that group is SO special! Thank you to all of my Waco friends (most especially my parents and my very patient, persevering piano teacher, Ann Lindsey) for being there to hear us/me!
