Doug and I went to Waco last weekend to visit with my parents and attended a Lady Bears basketball game! I have loved women's basketball since I was a 6th grader wishing to be taller! I went to a summer basketball camp with Pam Bowers (then Baylor women's basketball coach in 1987), then played basketball at our local "Y", then manager of my jr. high team. I SO wanted to be tall and to play this game - alas, I did not grow into my basketball players' HUGE feet and am trying to be content to be a fan. I enjoy watching the Lady Bears, especially now that lots of people attend the games and the atmosphere is exciting!
Saturday night was Breast Cancer Awareness night and we got free pink Lady Bears t-shirts. As if this was not enough for us to be on the edge of our seats, here comes a VERY tall person in a Baylor green track suit - who could it be? Well, our very own former Baylor basketball player (he is now in graduate school) Mamadou Diene sits about 5 seats away from us! At 7 ' 1" tall, he was impressive! As you can see, he was also very gracious - then Doug got a little jealous and had to have his picture taken, too!

I obviously did not learn about capitalization, punctuation and spelling at Baylor!
