I have been inspired to get back to blogging - and that inspiration has come from my family! This picture is my mother-in-law, Raye Elliott aka "Nan", ME, and my mom, Diane Brittain aka "Momma Diane". We stopped to take this picture while enjoying the Guenther House and Restaurant in San Antonio in December - wow! Those strawberry waffles are AMAZING!
I have to say that I am incredibly blessed to be a part of the Brittain family and Elliott family! Both families get along and can socialize without fear and trembling and I think they enjoy it. I certainly enjoy holidays and other fun gatherings without worrying about who will offend who or who will not enjoy themselves.
I am also incredibly blessed by the "elders" in my Brittain family - I can't think of another name to call them (ancestors is too far back!!) I recently attended and participated in the funeral of my great-aunt Villa Mae Brittain Mueller Roden. She was 102 when she died and what a life she lived! She taught public school for over 35 years, outlived two husbands, and at 100 years old, she attended my wedding! What an honor to be counted as one of her family members! She was spunky, outspoken, but above all, she loved her Lord greatly. At her funeral, the preacher said she had taught Sunday School for 70 years - AMAZING!!
I enter into 2010 with a renewed appreciation for family - Thank you, Lord, for these blessings!
